Jennifer Harman was born and raised in Reno, Nevada she currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada with her husband Marco Traniello. Jennifer's earliest memory of cards stems back to when she was only five years old and she has stayed fascinated by cards ever since. When Jennifer was only eight years old see started to experience the game of poker. Jennifer's dad would regularly play in home games and Jennifer would watch with great interest, then one night after being on a losing streak. Jennifer's father asked her to sit in his seat just to see if Jennifer could do any better than he was, Jennifer's father found that she was so good that he would often call upon her during tough games.
Jennifer later graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with the intention of training to be a doctor until she discovered that gambling was much more lucrative, she would always play in games while studying for her biology degree. Jennifer really began her professional poker career in her teens and while working as a cocktail waitress for a brief time, Jennifer would shed her waitress attire and retire to the poker tables after work until poker became her primary income. When Jennifer started playing full time she was only 21, she specialized in Limit Hold'em. Jennifer earned her way into the game by trial and error when she first started Jennifer would find herself going broke as she started to play in games that were to large for her bankroll she eventually learned from her mistakes and eventually built her way up.
Jennifer has been a professional poker player for over ten years and can often be found playing in most of the higher stake games including one of the biggest games in the world the $4,000/$8,000 mixed game at the Bellagio. This games consists of some of the most fierce opponents in poker today like Johnny Chan, Phil Ivey, Doyle Brunson and Chip Reese being part of this game and often coming out on top has put Jennifer in the category as being considered one of the best players in the world. Jennifer does not only make a splash in the big cash games she also likes to play the tournaments as she enjoys the challenge that they bring. In 2000 Jennifer won her first World Series of Poker bracelet at the No Limit Kansas City Deuce to Seven Lowball Event she also won prize money of $146,250 but Jennifer didn't stop there in 2002 Jennifer won her second WSOP bracelet at the $5,000 WSOP Limit Hold'em Event and prize money of $221,440.
Jennifer took a year away from poker when she had to have a kidney transplant but that has never stopped her because despite missing the 2004 WSOP she returned to finish in 4th place in the $15,000 World Poker Tour, Five Diamond World Poker Classic No-Limit Hold'em at the Bellagio were she won $299,492. Jennifer has also finished in 5th place in the inaugural Professional Poker Tour event and in 2005 Jennifer went on to finish in 2nd place at the $10,000 WSOP Circuit No-Limit Hold'em Championship Event winning $383,840 and then in 3rd place at the $2,000 WSOP Seven Card Stud Hi/Lo 3rd were Jennifer won $53,903.
Jennifer's accomplishments don't stop there as a recipient of a kidney transplant, Jennifer is now an advocate for the cause, speaking on the importance of becoming an organ donor and founding CODA, "Creating Organ Donation Awareness". Jennifer wants to hold the Jennifer Harman Challenge, which will be a charity event to donate money to educating people about donor awareness.
