Allen Cunningham was born on March 28th in 1977 in Riverside, California he currently resides in Marina Del Ray, California. When Allen was at a young age he would often play cards with his family, before long the challenge of playing with family members no longer satisfied him and it was then that he decided to set his sights on the big games in Las Vegas. Before Allen ventured out to Las Vegas he enrolled at UCLA on a Civil Engineering course, by times he was eighteen he would gamble at Indian Casinos which his friends would also visit on a regular basis, he had no idea about casino gambling the only experience he had of cards was playing with his family so Allen started off playing casually and found that he was winning far more than he was losing. Allen played smart, only playing low raise games to begin with but his small wins soon turned into much larger money wins it was at this point that Allen decided to leave his engineering course and take up poker playing on a professional basis.

Allen's professional career did not start on the high note that his previous playing had given him he found that he was always losing but this never deterred him from playing it only made him more determined to succeed. In 1998 Allen got his chance to prove that he had what it took to become a professional poker player at the $2,000 Hold'em Pot Limit Tournament in Las Vegas when he finished in a respectable 25th place and earning himself $2,748. As Allen progressed in the game so did his finishing position, in 1999 not only did he finish in 15th place in the $2,500 World Series of Poker Omaha 8 or Better event earning just over $5,000 he was also named 'Best All-Around Player' at the Legends of Poker. Allen's winning streak just went on and on with him launching himself to 2nd position at the 2000, $5,000 WSOP Omaha high-low split winning $113,850. When Allen hit the 2001 poker scene he really started to reap the rewards for his dedication to poker, in May Allen came first in the WSOP $5,000 Seven Card Stud event with a win of $201,760 which he followed with a win at the Legends of Poker played in Los Angeles at the $500 Hold'em Omaha Hi-Lo 7 Card Stud Hi-Lo. Allen didn't stop there in the same year he also came second in the Four Queens Poker Classic played in Las Vegas, playing in the $5,000 no limit Hold'em Championship event.

The 2002 WSOP $5,000 Deuce to Seven No-Limit event saw Allen walk away with 1st place as well as pocketing $160,200. 2003 was also a good year for Allen at the World Poker Tour Euro Finals played in Paris he finished in 3rd place in the Euro 10,000 No limit Hold'em event, at the $25,000 No Limit Hold'em World Poker Tour Bellagio Five-Star World Poker Classic championship Allen finished in 13th place. Atlantic City seemed to carry his Allen's luck when he won the US Poker Championship in the $1,000 No Limit Hold'em event. In the 2004 $5,000 No Limit Hold'em event at the Bellagio Five-Star WPC/WPT Championship Allen scooted home winning the $111,494 prize. Allen's biggest win was at the 2005 WSOP $1,500 No Limit Hold'em event when he took home a staggering $725,405. At this point in his career Allen has already achieved so much with 13 cash finishes in the World Series of Poker Events and 6 World Poker Tour Events as well as having three WSOP bracelets to his name. Despite Allen's hugely successful career as a poker player he is not as well known as some of his fellow competitors, however Allen likes to keep things this way but he is however well known among his peers.
